LivTours started in Rome in 2009 as LivItaly Tours, founded by tour guide Angelo Carotenuto, who co-owns it with Kristin Karstensdotter. It is registered in California as LivItaly Tours LLC, a registered seller of travel, and runs its Italian operations from Rome. It has since expanded into Spain, France, England, Austria and Germany.
The company offers more than 350 tours and experiences, including Vatican and Colosseum visits, walking tours, museum tours, food and wine tours, cooking classes, day trips, shore excursions and transfers. Destinations include Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan, the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii, Cinque Terre, Sicily, Paris, Barcelona, Andalusia, London, Berlin and Austria. Semi-private tours are capped at six people, and private tours are offered too.
It suits travelers who want smaller groups and expert guides rather than big coach tours. Prices can be shown in US dollars, euros, pounds or Australian dollars. Most bookings can be cancelled or changed for a full refund up to 24 hours before the tour starts, or swapped for travel credit worth 110% of the price; cancellations within 24 hours, non-refundable rates and some entry tickets cannot be refunded. There is a US phone line in Los Angeles.
