GreaterGood is an online gift store where every purchase supports a charitable cause. When you order, you pick where your impact goes, from hunger and poverty relief, animal medical care and pet food to breast cancer research, veteran meals and care, rainforest conservation, autism therapies and literacy. The shop sells clothing, bags, footwear, jewelry, home and kitchen items, garden decor and plenty of dog- and cat-themed gifts, with sale collections under $10, $25, $50 and $100, plus fair trade pieces.
The company dates back to 1999, when Tim Kunin and Greg Hesterberg started CharityUSA and the Ecology Fund, and it took over GreaterGood.com in 2001. Its charity arm, Greater Good Charities, was set up in 2006. GreaterGood says it has given more than $90 million to charities since 1999, and it's headquartered in Seattle.
Besides shopping, the site runs free ways to give, such as daily Click to Give pages, trivia and games that fund donations. Its free GreaterGood Guardians membership lets you collect points, earn rewards and direct your impact to causes you choose.
