AMBIR Technology is an American scanner maker based in Wood Dale, Illinois, which got its start in 2001. It's best known in healthcare, where its card and document scanners sit at front desks capturing insurance cards and IDs straight into electronic health records, and its products are also used by banks, government offices, law firms and remote workers.
The lineup includes ID and insurance card scanners, business card scanners, compact and high-speed document scanners with automatic document feeders, a photo scanner, barcode scanners, signature pads, thermal label printers and a document camera that doubles as a webcam. Most scanners ship with its AmbirScan software, with editions for business cards, IDs and age verification, and the store also sells cables, cleaning kits, thermal labels and extended warranties. Every device comes with a standard two-year warranty.
