About Codeyoung
Codeyoung is an online tutoring company that teaches kids through live one-on-one video classes. It was started at the end of 2019 by IIT Delhi graduates Shailendra Dhakad and Rupika Taneja, and is run by Smart Owl Education Private Limited, an Indian company. Each student is paired with a dedicated mentor, and the company says it has taught more than 30,000 students in over 15 countries.
The coding track runs from Scratch and MIT App Inventor through web and app development to Python, AI and machine learning. There are also math classes for grades 1 to 8, English, science, robotics and financial literacy, a short Mini Course of eight 50-minute sessions, and test prep for the SAT, ACT, PSAT and AP. Classes usually last about an hour, two to four times a week, and come with progress reports, worksheets and a coding Sandbox.
It suits parents who want a personal tutor for their child rather than a recorded course, and the scheduling is flexible across time zones. Prices are shown in dollars, starting from $22 a class, and courses are sold in packs of sessions or as memberships. You'll need a computer and a stable internet connection. A free trial class can be booked before paying anything.
