empowerDX is the consumer testing brand of DNA Diagnostics Center, Inc., a US laboratory company. The site sells at-home kits: you collect a sample, mail it back to the lab and read your results in a secure online portal. The lab lists CLIA certification and CAP, AABB, New York State and ANAB ISO accreditations.
There are more than 20 tests across genetics, gut health, heart health, mental health, pregnancy and home safety. Examples on the site include an APOE gene test ($99), an MTHFR gene test ($129), an HLA celiac risk gene test ($279), a vitamin B12 and folate test ($89) and a heart health panel ($149), along with radon and water testing for the home. The company's range also takes in the Peekaboo early gender DNA test and the SpermCheck home test.
It suits people in the US who want lab testing ordered online and done from home. The results are information to discuss with your doctor, not a diagnosis. Unshipped orders can be fully refunded, and orders up to 30 days old are refunded minus $20 per kit unless results have been released.
