GetYourGuide is an online marketplace for things to do on a trip: guided tours, day trips, skip-the-line attraction tickets, boat cruises, food tours and outdoor activities. It was founded in 2009 in Zurich by Johannes Reck, Tao Tao and three fellow ETH Zurich graduates, and moved its headquarters to Berlin in 2012. It started selling activities in the US in 2021.
Local tour companies and attractions list their experiences on the site, and GetYourGuide takes a commission on each booking. The company says it offers around 200,000 experiences in more than 18,000 cities from over 50,000 partners. Every listing carries reviews from earlier customers, and some tours are run under the GetYourGuide name with operators that meet its standards.
The company raised money from SoftBank's Vision Fund in 2019 and reported its first profitable year in 2025. In April 2025 Italy's competition authority fined it, along with other sellers, over the resale of Colosseum tickets, so for famous landmarks it's worth comparing with the attraction's own ticket prices. US travelers can book in dollars on getyourguide.com for trips at home or abroad; cancellation terms are set on each listing.
