Surfshark is a VPN service that launched in 2018. It's run by Surfshark B.V. in Amsterdam, and it merged with NordVPN's owner, Nord Security, in 2022, though the two brands operate separately. One account covers unlimited devices, with apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, smart TVs and browsers.
The VPN uses RAM-only servers under a no-logs policy, and Surfshark says it has more than 4,500 servers in 100 countries. It also blocks ads and trackers. Three plans are offered. Starter is the VPN, One adds antivirus, Surfshark Alert for data breaches and Alternative ID, and One+ adds removal of your data from data broker sites. For new US customers, One+ also includes up to $1 million in identity theft recovery cover, with exclusions.
