Lockin makes smart locks for front doors, and its signature feature is palm vein recognition: you hold your hand up to the lock and it reads the vein pattern under the skin rather than a fingerprint on the surface. The newer Veno Solar range adds 3D face recognition and fingerprint models with solar charging built in, aimed at cutting down how often you need to swap or charge batteries.

It suits households that are tired of hunting for keys, families who want to give kids, sitters or relatives their own access, and anyone replacing a worn-out lock on a standard US door. The store only ships to US addresses, and prices are in US dollars. Several models connect to the Lockin Smart app over built-in Wi-Fi, and some are Matter compatible if you run a smart home hub.

The Veno Solar Face is the hands-free option: the store says it unlocks by 3D face recognition in under a second, charges itself from daylight without a separate solar panel, and also opens by PIN code, app, mechanical key or voice. If you want to keep costs down, the Veno Go Palm Vein Smart Lock starts at $129.99 and, according to its page, fits most standard US doors without drilling and installs in as little as 15 minutes.

At the top of the range, the Veno Pro and Veno Plus are video smart locks with a camera for seeing who's at the door, and there are bundles that pair a lock with an external solar panel. Several models come with or without a matching door lever, which changes the price.

Orders are processed within one to two business days, and the store says it can ship to P.O. boxes with standard shipping. If a lock arrives damaged or faulty, the returns policy offers a free replacement when you contact customer service with photos of the problem, and missing items should be reported within seven days of delivery.

Current offers

• New customers get $10 off, offered through the email sign-up on the site.

Some models are also showing reductions on their own pages: the Veno Solar Face is $139.99 (was $169.99) and the Veno Plus video lock is $239.99 (was $259.99).

How to save more

• Decide whether you need the door lever. The lever bundles cost more, and if your existing handle is fine, the lock on its own is the cheaper choice.
• Compare the solar models with the battery ones. If your door gets decent daylight, a Veno Solar lock may save you buying a spare battery, which Lockin sells separately.
• Standard shipping is free on eligible US orders and takes 5 to 7 business days, and returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery in original condition, according to the return and refund policy. Keep the packaging until you're sure the lock fits your door.
