Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26, and the big grocers have started announcing their meal bundles. This year you can feed 10 people for under $40 at Lidl or Aldi, six people for $30 at Target, or order a ready-made spread from Sam's Club or Costco if you'd rather not cook.

We've compared the 2026 Thanksgiving meal deals using the retailers' own announcements and websites, checked on October 26, 2026. Prices can vary by store and location, and most of these deals don't start until November, so check the details before you shop.

At a glance

  • Cheapest for 10: Lidl, $35.86 for up to 10 people (about $3.59 each), but you need the free Lidl Plus app.

  • Smaller gatherings: Target, $30 for six people, with a Butterball turkey of up to 10 pounds.

All prices are before tax. For comparison, the American Farm Bureau Federation's 2025 survey put a classic Thanksgiving dinner for 10 at $55.18, or about $5.52 a person.

Lidl: $35.86 for up to 10

Lidl's basket is the cheapest on price and the biggest on items, with 21 products including a 14-pound Shady Brook Farms frozen turkey, 5 pounds of russet potatoes, 3 pounds of sweet potatoes, stuffing, gravy mix, green beans, cranberry sauce, Hawaiian rolls, mac and cheese, and everything for a pumpkin pie. It runs from November 11 to 25, while supplies last.

There are conditions. You must be an active Lidl Plus member and scan the app at checkout, it's one basket per account, and the price only holds if your turkey is 14 pounds or less. Lidl also says it will match the total price of comparable Walmart and Aldi meal deals for the whole basket, though wholesale clubs and third-party delivery are excluded.

Aldi: under $39 for 10

Aldi's meal is the simplest to buy: no coupons, loyalty cards, minimum spend or membership. It's built around a 16-pound Farmer's Choice turkey, with stuffing, sweet potatoes, Hawaiian sweet rolls, fresh cranberries, frozen peas, a veggie tray, pumpkin pie mix and crusts, whipping cream and milk. Items carry a turkey logo on the shelf, and you can add the whole list to an online cart in one click.

Timing matters. The prices run until November 25, but cranberries only went on sale on October 26, the turkey arrives on November 4 and the pumpkin pie mix on November 11. Aldi says prices vary by location, and delivery through apps such as Instacart or DoorDash adds fees. On Aldi's Thanksgiving page we saw stuffing mix at $0.79, a 3-pound bag of sweet potatoes at $1.95 and Hawaiian rolls at $1.99.

Target: $30 for six

Target's meal, announced on October 22, suits a smaller table. For $30 you get a Butterball Premium Whole Young Turkey of up to 10 pounds, 3 pounds of russet potatoes, jellied cranberry sauce, the makings of a green bean casserole (two cans of green beans, cream of mushroom soup and fried onions), Stove Top stuffing, turkey gravy and two take-and-bake baguettes. It runs from November 8 to 29 and isn't available in Alaska or Hawaii.

Target is also selling its Good & Gather frozen turkey for 79 cents a pound from November, the third year in a row at that price. That's well below the Farm Bureau's 2025 average of $1.34 a pound.

Sam's Club: a ready-made meal for up to 16

Sam's Club's Member's Mark meal costs about $160 and serves up to 16, or under $10 a person. It's mostly cooked food: a boneless carver ham, a hickory smoked turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, two trays each of green beans and mac and cheese, sweet corn, a cranberry salad, rolls, a charcuterie tray and two 12-inch pumpkin pies. Ordering opens on October 28 in the club, in the app or online, and you can add or remove items. Curbside pickup is free; delivery is $10 for Plus members or $22 for Club members. You'll need a membership, which starts at $60 a year.

Costco: dinner for 8, shipped

Costco's Complete Gourmet Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner serves eight and is $199.99 after $70 off (usually $269.99) until November 30. It includes a 5-pound pre-brined turkey breast, trays of mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, sweet corn, green bean casserole and cornbread stuffing, candied yams, gravy, cranberry relish, 12 rolls, an apple cobbler and a pumpkin pie. It ships frozen with shipping included, but only arrives Wednesday to Friday and doesn't ship to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico. It's the priciest per person here, but you're paying for the cooking.

What about Walmart and Kroger?

Neither had announced a 2026 bundle when we checked. Last year, Walmart's basket fed 10 for under $40 and Kroger's Freshgiving meal fed 10 for under $4.75 a person. If they return, Lidl's price match promise covers comparable Walmart deals.

Are food prices still rising?

More slowly than other prices. The Bureau of Labor Statistics says food at home cost 1.8% more in September 2026 than a year earlier, against 3.7% for all items. Meats, poultry, fish and eggs were up just 0.3%. The Farm Bureau's 2025 survey found the classic dinner had fallen in price for the third year in a row, with turkey down 16.3%, though sweet potatoes were up 37%. Its 2026 survey normally comes out the week before Thanksgiving.

How to get the most from a meal deal

  1. Check the turkey size. Lidl's price depends on a turkey of 14 pounds or less, and Target's is up to 10 pounds.
  2. Mind the dates. Aldi's turkey arrives on November 4 and Lidl's deal starts November 11, so don't shop too early for the full price.
  3. Thaw in time. The USDA recommends thawing a frozen turkey in the fridge, allowing about 24 hours for every 4 to 5 pounds, so a 16-pound bird needs about four days.
  4. Fill the gaps. The bundles cover the basics. Add your own extras, like butter, a dessert or drinks, and compare those prices too.
  5. Skip delivery fees if you can. Delivery apps add fees and can charge higher item prices than the store.

FAQs

Do I need a membership for these deals?

Not at Aldi or Target. Lidl needs its free Lidl Plus app. Sam's Club and Costco need a paid membership.

Will the price be the same at every store?

Not always. Aldi and Sam's Club say prices vary by location, and every retailer quotes prices before tax.

Can I swap items in the bundle?

At Sam's Club you can add or remove items when you order. At Aldi, Lidl and Target, the price is for the listed items, so swapping them changes the total.
