Device Tracker Plus is a location-sharing service that has been running since 2016 and says it has more than 1 million users worldwide. It is a monthly subscription run through a web dashboard and a mobile app, and its terms name Boston Digital as the business behind it.
There are two sides to the service. The app lets a group share live locations on a private map, with geofence alerts when someone arrives at or leaves a place, a month of location history, battery levels, in-app messaging and an SOS button that sends your position to the group. Number Tracking is a web tool: you enter a phone number, the owner gets a text asking for permission, and once they approve you see the phone's location on the dashboard. Requests expire after 3 hours if nobody answers, and nothing is installed on the other phone.
It is pitched at parents keeping tabs on kids, couples, carers looking after older relatives, friends at festivals and solo travelers. It works on both iPhone and Android, and the company says it supports carriers in more than 150 countries. Everything is consent-based: the other person has to approve before their location appears. The subscription renews monthly until you cancel, and fees are generally not refunded once the service has been used, so read the terms before you sign up.
