BelkaVPN is a VPN service run by DigiApp LLC, with apps for Windows, Mac, iPhone, Android and Android TV, browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox and Edge, and setup guides for routers, game consoles, Roku, Apple TV and Fire TV. Its server page lists more than 1,600 servers in 65 countries, all marked P2P-friendly with private DNS. It suits people who want one subscription for streaming abroad, public Wi-Fi and the TV in the living room without paying top-tier prices.

The feature list on every plan is the same: AES-256 encryption, a kill switch, split tunneling, unlimited data and server switching, ad and malware blocking, and a no-activity-logs policy. The plan cards say up to 5 devices per account, so check that against your household before you pick.

What's worth a look

Since there's one service, here are the three plans and three of the most useful setup pages.

The 36-month plan is where the 77% off headline comes from: $99.99 against a crossed-out $431.64, which the site shows as $2.75 a month. The router guide is handy if you want to cover a smart TV or console that can't run an app.

Setup guides go well beyond phones and laptops: Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, Chromecast, Roku, nVidia Shield, Kodi, Apple TV, Android TV and Amazon Fire TV are all covered, and there's a separate Android app for use in China. Every plan includes IP leak protection, 24/7 customer support and the same server list, so the only real choice is how long you commit for. The site is also available in German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese and Russian.

Current offers

• 77% off the 36-month plan: $99.99 up front. The order page's wording on how the 36 months are counted is a little unclear, so read the renewal terms at checkout before you pay.
• 12-month plan: $80.00 billed yearly, shown against $143.88 (44% off).
• Monthly: $11.99 a month with no long commitment.

The home page also mentions a 7-day free trial; it isn't shown on the plan cards, so check the order page for whether it applies to you.

How to save more

• Do the math over two years: two years of the monthly plan costs about $288, two yearly plans $160, and the 36-month plan $99.99 for longer.
• Buy direct on the website rather than through the App Store if you want BelkaVPN to handle any refund: App Store purchases follow Apple's refund rules instead.
• Use the 30 days to test the streaming services and countries you actually need, using the streaming list as a starting point.

Payment is taken by Stripe on the order page, and support is by email, with phone call-backs during standard US hours.
