Escobar Cigars is a premium cigar brand with rapper Nas as a co-owner and equity partner, and its core line is made by AJ Fernandez. The site sells only to adults aged 21 and over, ships only within the US, and sends every order from Delray Beach, Florida. It suits cigar smokers who want to buy a single cigar to try a blend, or a box once they've found one they like.

Most cigars are sold in several sizes and counts, from singles to boxes of 20, so the price you see changes as you pick a size. The core line comes in Corona (5 x 42), Robusto (5 x 50) and Toro (6 x 52).

What's worth a look

Here are six cigars and packs from Escobar's own store, with the lowest price shown on each page.

The three core blends share the same prices: $13 for a single Corona, $13.50 for a Robusto and $14 for a Toro, with a box of 20 Coronas at $230. The Habano has an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan and Honduran fillers. The Maduro uses a dark Mexican San Andrés wrapper, and the Connecticut has a light Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper.

If you can't decide, the Toro Sampler puts one Habano, one Maduro and one Connecticut Toro in a 3-pack for $38.50. The Ultra Black Platinum Series I is the brand's limited edition, at $25 for a single or $120 for a pack of 5. The Nasty Esco, the first release in the Light Years Collection, is listed but showed as out of stock in every size when we looked.

Escobar also lists a store locator for shops and lounges that carry its cigars, and says buying online supports its retail partners. Its knowledge center has articles on cigar storage, such as how long cigars keep without a humidor. Orders placed before 3pm ET are usually processed within 24 business hours.

Current offers

Standard shipping is free on orders over $100, according to Escobar's shipping policy. Standard delivery takes up to 7 days, with expedited, express and overnight options at checkout. We didn't see any other sale on the site. There's also an e-gift card from $10 to $500.

How to save more

• Buy by the pack. A single Corona is $13, but a pack of 10 is $118, which brings each cigar down to $11.80.
• Combine items to get over $100 for free standard shipping. A pack of 10 Coronas plus a single will do it.
• The Escobar x Cigar Chief House Blends start at $10 for a single and $100 for 10 (Maduro and Habano were in stock; Connecticut was out), so they're the cheapest way into the range.

Check your state's tobacco rules before you order. The shipping policy says buyers are responsible for complying with local laws, and that most boxes weigh over the 2 lb shipping threshold. Adults 21 and over only.
