Cyber Monday 2026: what goes on sale on November 30, and how it compares with Black Friday

What to expect

Cyber Monday 2026 is Monday, November 30, four days after Thanksgiving. Adobe, which measures online sales at US retailers, forecasts that shoppers will spend $15.1 billion online that day, up 6.2% on last year. If that's right, it would be the first day ever above $15 billion and the biggest online shopping day of the year again.

Black Friday is catching up, though. Adobe expects Black Friday (November 27) online spending to grow faster, by 9.2% to $12.9 billion, as retailers start discounts earlier. After last year's season, Adobe analyst Vivek Pandya said that "Black Friday now challenges the dominance of Cyber Monday."

What usually goes on sale

Adobe's forecast names the day each category's discounts should peak, based on its data from previous years:

• Electronics: up to 30% off, best on Cyber Monday.
• Computers: up to 23% off, best on Cyber Monday.
• Toys: up to 29% off, best on Black Friday.
• TVs: up to 23% off, best on Black Friday.
• Apparel: up to 23% off, best on Black Friday.
• Sporting goods: up to 19% off, best on Thanksgiving Day.
• Appliances and furniture: up to 18% off, best on Black Friday.

These are average peak discounts, so some deals will be much bigger and many will be smaller. Last year, Adobe recorded peak Cyber Monday discounts of 31% on electronics, 28% on toys and 25% on apparel.

Cyber Monday vs Black Friday

On Cyber Monday 2025, Adobe says US shoppers spent $14.25 billion online, up 7.1%, against $11.8 billion on Black Friday. Spending peaked at $16 million a minute between 8pm and 10pm. Mobile devices accounted for 57.5% of Cyber Monday online sales, and buy now, pay later (BNPL) spending passed $1 billion for the first time, at $1.03 billion. Adobe expects BNPL to reach $1.09 billion this Cyber Monday.

The gap is narrowing because retailers now spread deals over weeks. Best Buy, for example, started doorbusters on October 30, runs Black Friday deals for 10 days from November 19, and has Cyber Week deals from December 1 to 6. Deloitte's 2026 holiday survey found 44% of shoppers plan to shop Cyber Monday.

A worked example

This is an illustration using Adobe's average peak discounts, not real prices. Jordan wants a $150 pair of wireless headphones and a $40 toy. At Adobe's 30% peak electronics discount on Cyber Monday, the headphones would cost $105. At the 29% peak toy discount on Black Friday, the toy would cost $28.40. Buying each on its best day saves $56.60, or about 30%. Buying both on Cyber Monday, if the toy were only 20% off that day, would save $53. The difference is small, so don't stress about the perfect day. Do check the price history (see below) before buying either.

What to do now

1. Make a list with the exact model numbers you want.
2. Note today's prices so you can tell whether a Cyber Monday price is really lower.
3. Sign up for store emails or apps for the shops you plan to use. Many send early access.
4. Be careful with BNPL. Several small plans can add up. Note each payment date before you agree.
5. Shop on secure sites only. Type the store's address yourself rather than clicking links in texts or social media ads.

Are Cyber Monday deals better than Black Friday?

For electronics and computers, Adobe expects the biggest average discounts on Cyber Monday. For toys, TVs and clothes, it expects Black Friday to be better.

When do Cyber Monday deals end?

Each store sets its own end time. Many run deals into the following week, such as Best Buy's Cyber Week deals from December 1 to 6.
