House of Lamps is an online lighting store for the US, run by Luqom, the European lighting retailer behind Germany's Lampenwelt. It sells ceiling lights, pendants, wall sconces, table and floor lamps, outdoor lights and bulbs, and you can browse by room as well as by type: dining room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and so on.

It suits anyone replacing a tired builder-grade fixture or furnishing a room from scratch, and designers sourcing for clients. A lot of the range comes from Lucande, Luqom's own design label, alongside designer brands such as Artemide. Prices are in US dollars and the shop delivers within the United States only.

What's worth a look

These six are from the store's Customer Favorites, with prices as shown today, several of them in the current Lucande sale.

The Milenka brass table lamp is down to $97.99 from $139.99, and if you have the room for a statement piece, the Belinda arc lamp on its marble base is $174.99 rather than $249.99. For a dining table, the three-bulb Sadie pendant pairs brass with amber glass. The Artemide Dioscuri ceiling light is a designer piece at full price, so it's not part of the sale.

Outdoor lighting is in the sale too. The Lucande Eloretta outdoor wall sconce in green glass is $62.99 instead of $89.99, and the copper Clint outdoor wall light is $96.99, down from $161.99. Inside, the Aiden black and gold LED wall sconce has its own reading light, which makes it a neat option either side of a bed, at $89.99 rather than $129.99. If you're unsure about color temperature or brightness, House of Lamps says it explains terms like Kelvin, lumens and IP ratings in plain language, including when a fixture needs an electrician.
