When to post
- Right away, then pin it in your group.
- Payday weekends, when lots of online shopping happens.
- Before Black Friday (late November) and in early December for holiday shopping.
- Whenever you share a fundraising total: people come back when they see it grow.
Make it easy
- Ask everyone to sign up on your page (free, no password). Their choice of ASPCA then follows them to every device.
- Put the link on your website, social profiles and in your email signature.
- Add the QR code to game schedules, programs and newsletters.
- Thank people publicly when the total goes up.
5. How the money works
How much does the charity get?
50% of the commission the store pays us. Stores usually pay 2% to 10% of the order, so a $100 order typically earns $2 to $10, and ASPCA gets 50% of that. Thirty families shopping this way adds up over a year.
When is it paid?
We pay each cause its confirmed commission every quarter (Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct), once the store has confirmed the sale, usually 30 to 90 days after the order. We pay by bank transfer, to the account we agree with you.
Does it work with every store?
It works with the stores on Promo Magpie that pay us a commission, and we're adding more all the time. Supporters should start at Promo Magpie and click through to the store; going straight to the store doesn't count.
What if someone returns their order?
Then the store doesn't pay a commission on it, so there's nothing to donate. That's why we wait for stores to confirm each sale.
Who do we talk to?
Email [email protected] with anything: a new poster, a different message, or a question about donations.
