Roadtrippers is a road trip planner for the web, iPhone and Android. You enter a start and an end point and it shows gas stations, places to stay, attractions, hiking trails and its own "Extraordinary Places" along the route, drawing on a database of millions of points of interest in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Its Autopilot feature suggests stops for you based on more than 42 million trips planned with the app, and there are curated trip guides for famous routes such as Route 66 and the Pacific Coast Highway.
The company was founded by James Fisher and Tatiana Parent, who moved from Britain to Cincinnati in 2011 when the Brandery startup accelerator took them on. The website launched in 2012 and the first iPhone app followed that November. Today Roadtrippers, LLC is part of Roadpass Digital, which also runs the Campendium campground site.
The free plan covers one saved trip with up to three stops. Paid Basic, Pro and Premium memberships add more trips and stops, collaboration, navigation and offline maps, and Premium adds RV tools: RV-safe GPS routing, more than 16,000 free overnight RV parking spots and member deals. Paid plans start with a 7-day free trial and renew automatically.
