CSD, short for Consigned Sealed Delivered, is a London consignment store for pre-owned designer fashion. It opened in November 2020 and now runs a shop on Marylebone Lane alongside its website, which you can switch to US dollars. Stock comes from private wardrobes, so you'll find one-off bags, clothing, shoes, scarves and sunglasses from Chanel, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior, Bottega Veneta and plenty more, along with vintage pieces and some items that still have their tags.

It suits shoppers in the US who want a specific designer piece for less than its original retail price and don't mind buying from overseas. Orders ship from London with DHL Express: standard shipping to the US is US$17, express is US$40, and standard is free on orders over US$400. Because parcels come from the UK, DHL may collect import charges on arrival.

Authentication is the big reason to buy here rather than from a stranger online. Every item is inspected by at least two of CSD's in-house authenticators, using checks specific to each fashion house, and all Chanel and Hermès pieces, plus higher-value bags, also go to the third-party service LegitGrails.

What's worth a look

Here are six pieces from the current stock, with the US dollar prices shown on the site today. Most are one of a kind, so they may sell quickly.

The Burberry navy belted trench coat at US$489 is a good example of where resale makes sense: CSD lists its estimated retail price at US$2,136. At the top end, the Chanel Medium 25 bag is US$9,573. Each listing gives a condition grade, so read it closely before you buy. New pieces arrive daily, and the New With Tag section gathers items that have never been worn, which is worth a look if you want designer pieces in as-new condition.

How to save more

• Pick US dollars in the currency menu at the top of the site before you shop. Promotions that don't apply to a currency are removed from your cart if you switch later.
• Check the returns rules before a big purchase. Online orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery, but items sold for £3,000 or more (roughly the price of the Chanel bag) are store credit only.
• Factor in possible import charges when you compare prices with a US reseller.
