THEBS is an Italian marketplace for designer fashion. Instead of holding its own warehouse stock, it sells from a network of more than a hundred multibrand boutiques in Italy and Europe, which own the platform through Top Retailers S.r.l. in Milan. It started out as iKRIX in Genoa in 2014 and took the name THEBS, short for The Best Shops, in 2023. The US site prices everything in US dollars and delivers worldwide within 3 to 7 working days.

It suits shoppers after European designer labels, from Stella McCartney and Maison Margiela to Lemaire, MSGM and Diesel, especially pieces that can be hard to find at US department stores.

Because the stock comes from established boutiques rather than unknown resellers, THEBS says its products are authentic and verified under The Best Shops trademark of Camera Buyer Italia, a trade association of around 100 Italian and foreign luxury multibrand boutiques. The site covers clothing, shoes, bags and accessories for women, men, girls and boys, and you can browse by brand or by category, with a sale filter within each brand.

What's worth a look

Here are six picks from the women's edit when we checked.

The M.S.G.M. Beige Cashmere Sweater at $307 is one of the more affordable ways into the designer range, while the Stella McCartney Micro Falabella tote is $816. Men's and kids' sections carry a similar mix of established and emerging labels.

The Lemaire skirt at $374 and the MM6 Maison Margiela leather mules at $566 show the kind of pieces the boutiques pick: more avant-garde than mainstream. For winter, the B&B Couture eco-fur coat is $699 and Diesel's Venus leather boots are $667.

How to save more

• Browse the sale filter within each brand to find the reduced pieces quickly.
• Check the cart for duties and sales taxes before you pay. On some items they're included, but on others you pay them to the courier on delivery, which adds to the real cost.
• Returns must be made within 14 days with the tag and disposable seal still attached, so try things on carefully before removing anything.
