Winter boots, coats and outdoor gear deals this week: Rossignol, Eddie Bauer and Garmont

The first cold snaps are arriving, and if you need a warmer coat, ski gear or a pair of proper boots, a few shops on our list already have them marked down. Rossignol has last season's ski wear on sale, Eddie Bauer has a big clearance section, and Garmont Tactical has a boot offer. We checked everything on the shops' own sites on November 1, 2026. None of the sales showed an end date.

Rossignol: ski jackets and pants

Rossignol's US sale page had these prices:

• Men's Chalet Black Shoes: $66 (was $110, 40% off)

Sizes in the sale are limited, so check your size before you get attached to a color. Rossignol says you get free shipping when you log in or create an account.

Eddie Bauer: clearance

Eddie Bauer's home page was showing "Up to 70% off Clearance!" when we checked, with free shipping on US orders of $99 or more. The clearance section changes as stock sells, so we haven't listed prices. The biggest reductions in a clearance section are usually on less common sizes and colors, so filter by your size first.

Garmont Tactical: boots built for cold

Garmont makes military and law enforcement boots that also suit hard winter use. Its T8 Extreme WP 400G Thinsulate, an insulated, waterproof winter boot that meets the Army's AR670-1 uniform rules, was $240. The T8 Falcon was $105, down from $140.

When you add a pair of T8 boots to your cart, Garmont offers 35% off a pair of Nemesis 4 or 6 G-Dry boots in coyote or black. With a pair of boots in the cart, you can also add tactical socks for $5, or two pairs for $8 as a limited-time offer.

Anker SOLIX: for the outages

Winter storms bring power cuts. Anker SOLIX sells portable power stations that can keep phones, lights and small appliances going. It offers free shipping on all orders, and an extra 5% off your first purchase when you sign up, which Anker says can save up to $1,500 on the biggest units. Check the capacity in watt-hours against what you want to run before you buy.

A worked example

A Rossignol Proclivity Athlete Ski Jacket and matching bib come to $735 on sale. At the full prices of $575 and $475, the pair would be $1,050, so you'd save $315. If you're a new customer, the 15% newsletter discount may not apply to sale items, as Rossignol says exclusions apply, so check in your cart.

At Garmont, a pair of T8 Falcons at $105 plus one pair of tactical socks at $5 comes to $110, against $140 for the boots alone at full price. These are our own sums, before tax and shipping.

What to do now

1. Check your size charts. Ski wear and boots vary between brands, and sale stock runs out of common sizes first.
2. Look at the insulation. Boot listings give the grams of insulation, such as 400g Thinsulate. More grams means warmer and usually heavier.
3. Read the returns policy on clearance and sale items before you buy. Some shops treat final sale differently.
4. Combine orders at Eddie Bauer to reach the $99 free shipping threshold.
5. Don't wait for snow. Popular sizes sell out once the first big storm hits.
